Welcome to the SDCFF Volunteer Job Information page! If you are not already familiar with our mission, please visit MISSION *VISION*VALUES.
To accomplish our vision, we need help! If you love films, enjoy assisting people, are a team player and want to be a part of laying the foundation for a Christian event to be enjoyed for years to come, please volunteer! You'll have fun, plus each volunteer will receive a FREE First Annual San Diego Christian Film Festival T-shirt.
Opportunities
Volunteers may choose from a wide variety of opportunities. You may want to help the marketing team (in tasks such as phone calls, data entry, graphics, printing, canvassing, posting online); usher in the theatres; work sales in the lobby venue store or on the outdoor refreshment carts; work security & grounds (such as assisting patrons or putting out signage and picking up trash); assist with technical support or projection in the theatres; help in the outdoor entertainment areas; keep the restrooms stocked and clean, run errands; pick up and deliver stock; or just help with setup and/or take down. The list of needs is long!
Performing Artists: To enhance the festival atmosphere, we are soliciting applications for Christian chorale, instrumental and dance groups to perform outside on the theatre plaza grounds.

Levels of Commitment
Part-Time Volunteers: Offers flexible scheduling before or during the Festival and includes 2 film vouchers (approx. 2 hrs each) for every 6.5 hours worked. Part-time volunteers are encouraged to travel by trolley or bus to the Festival.
Part-Time Usher: Offers flexible scheduling and includes 1 film voucher (approx. 2 hrs each) for every 4.5 hours worked. Volunteer ushers are encouraged to travel by trolley or bus to the Festival.
Part-Time Shift Lead: Consists of working two 6.5 hour shifts at the Festival (Mon, Tue, Wed or Thur), 6 hours prior to the Festival and includes a One-Day Festival pass plus a parking pass. If additional hours are worked, 2 film vouchers for every 6.5 hours worked will be provided. (Part-Time Shift Usher Lead consists of working two 4.5 hour shifts during the Festival.)
Full-Time Team Coordinator: Consists of working two 10 hour shifts at the Festival (Mon, Tue, Wed or Thur) on an assigned schedule, working part-time prior to the Festival completing preparations for the Festival, and includes a Two-Day Festival pass, a ticket to the Gala Awards Reception plus a parking pass.
Specific Requirements
Part-Time Volunteers: Commit to a minimum total of 8.5 volunteer hours (2 hours prior to the Festival and one 6.5-hour shift); may sign up for more hours before or during the Festival. Sign up in advance for specific shift times of your choosing, as available. Attend pre-Festival trainings, Volunteer Orientation and communicate via e-mail.
Part-Time Usher: Commit to a minimum of 4.5 volunteer hours during the Festival (Monday – Thursday). Attend Volunteer Orientation and communicate via e-mail.
Part-Time Shift Lead Commit to a minimum total of 18.5 volunteer hours (6 hours prior to the Festival and two 6.5-hour shifts during the festival); may sign up for more hours before or during the Festival. Sign up in advance for specific shift times of your choosing, as available. Attend pre-Festival trainings, Volunteer Orientation and communicate via e-mail. (Part-Time Shift Usher Lead consists of working two 4.5 hour shifts during the Festival.)
Full-Time Team Coordinator: Commit to a pre-assigned Festival schedule of 20 hours during the festival (Monday – Thursday) plus approximate 80 volunteer hours for some and 15 hours for others May – December 2010 prior to the Festival. Be on-call the entire Festival period as needed by job assignment (varies). Attend pre-Festival trainings, Volunteer Orientation and communicate by email.
By applying for and accepting a volunteer position with SDCFF, you hereby agree to abide by the policies and code of conduct of SDCFF, i.e., dress code, drug/alchohol-free, no felony convictions, considerate treatment of public as ambassador for SDCFF, warrant your are of good health and able to provide services assigned, and you acknowledge that SDCFF is not owner/operator of premises and hence has no control over safety matters.
