SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
San Diego Christian Film Festival (SDCFF) has a small but important number of guidelines which filmmakers are expected to follow when making a submission for consideration in the SDCFF film slate.
Rather than explicity spell out a detailed list of requirements that filmmakers must follow during production, decisions related to audience appropriate content are left to the individual filmmaker.
There are, however, certain elements which will unequivocally disqualify a film from inclusion in the festival. Blatantly sexual content, offensive language and/or gratuitous violence will result in a film being rejected due to incompatibility with our mission statement, the nature, and intended target of our festival audience. SDCFF reserves the right to determine the suitability of submitted films for inclusion in the festival slate.
We encourage filmmakers to seek the highest levels of creativity consistent with a Christian witness.
SDCFF also expects filmmakers to respect the intellectual property of other artists whose work they may include in their films. Do not use intellectual property in your production which you are not legally entitled to use. Do not steal other people’s work.
SDCFF will consider every film on its merits, message, and theme. Films with adult themes will be considered for inclusion in the festival only if the above guidelines are met.
The determination of the SDCFF judges is final regarding acceptance of films for the festival film slate and recognition of films with festival awards.
