Mark Clayman, of "Pursuit of Happyness" Fame, to Keynote Gala
July 26, 2010 -- The San Diego Christian Film Festival is happy to announce that Mark Clayman will be the keynote speaker for the SDCFF Awards Gala, which will be December 30, 2010, as the culmination of the festival being held December 27-30, at San Diego State University. Clayman, a television and commercial turned independent film producer, was executive producer of the 2006 hit movie, "The Pursuit of Happyness," starring Will Smith.
100th Film Entered

SDCFF Shines at Spirit West Coast May 28-30, 2010
May 31, 2010 -- San Diego Christian Film Festival organizers threw together plans and props for a double booth at Spirit West Coast, a Christian music festival held at San Diego's Del Mar Fairgrounds May 28-30, 2010.
"We had a blast," said Richard Bagdazian, executive director. "We definitely were the brightest booth in the place, thanks to Piper Nadelle,"volunteer marketing coordinator for SDCFF.
With Piper's enthusiasm and organization skills, the team produced a new banner, new postcards to hand out, new T-shirts to wear, booth decor, loaner props from the San Diego Film Commission, a popcorn maker, and a PlayStation 3 to raffle in a drawing at the end of the festival -- all in under 10 days.
SDCFF Partners with MEDIA ARTS Center on Nonprofit Status
May 14, 2010 -- Richard Bagdazian, executive director of SDCFF, announced an arrangement with the MEDIA ARTS Center San Diego in which supporters may donate to SDCFF through the MEDIA ARTS Center, making their gifts tax deductible.
The MEDIA ARTS Center San Diego most recently produced the 15th annual San Diego Latino Film Festival, drawing a record 18,500 people. It seeks to provide a forum for the diversity of the San Diego border region through.provides workshops, resources, and monthly film screenings.
"This is a win-win situation," said Richard. "They can administer funds that sponsors give to them on our behalf and the sponsors will receive tax benefits for giving to a non-profit who is acting within their chartered purpose in supporting the development of cinema arts in San Diego."
Donations to SDCFF can be made out to Media Arts Center San Diego and sent to SDCFF, PO Box 26742, San Diego CA 92196-0742.
"Katie's Prayer" Wins in the Feature Length Category
May 1, 2010 -- Jimmy Dorantes, filmmaker and San Diego Christian Film Festival Executive Team member, won at 2010 Spirit Quest Film Festival in Erie, Penn. His documentary, "Katie's Prayer," won runner up in the feature Length Category after beating out hundreds of entries to be chosen as an official selection.
Piper Nadelle Named SDCFF Marketing Coordinator
May 8, 2010 -- Piper Nadelle has accepted an invitation to become the marketing coordinator for the San Diego Christian Film Festival. Piper has worked on both sides of the camera in film and television, both Christian and secular. Her experience also includes management and public relations for two live theatre companies. She has worked extensively as an event coordinator, and is thrilled to be rolling up her sleeves for the first annual San Diego Christian Film Festival.
SDCFF Was Represented at Biola Media Conference
May 2, 2010 --SDCFF founder Richard Bagdazian represented SDCFF at the 15th annual Biola Media Conference Saturday, May 1, 2010 (www.biolamedia.com/index.shtml). The conference, held at the CBS Studios in Studio City, (www.biolamedia.com/location.shtml) brings together industry professionals who share a Christian worldview and desire to integrate faith and the media arts.
Entries to SDCFF Reach 45, from Seven Countries

SDCFF Judge Dallas Jenkins on Fox Talking about 'Faith-based Films'
 March 25, 2010: Dallas Jenkins,one of San Diego Christian Film Festival's film judges, appeared today on Fox News to discuss the growing success of movies with a positive message like "The Blind Side."
Dallas, who has been making films since age 25, is schedule to release his latest feature, "What If...," in the fall. He appeared with actor Stephen Baldwin, who described the trend as a wave. SDCFF Receives International Film Submission

Our First News Conference
February 15, 2010: We may be newbies at this, but we had fun holding our first news conference at the San Diego State University Performing Arts Plaza.
