Welcome to the San Diego Christian Film Festival community! For the past year we have been busily working on the plans for SDCFF-2011. It’s exciting and incredibly rewarding to see plans for the 2nd annual event coming together with God’s help. In this blog, I’ll be sharing newsworthy events related to the festival and also talking about topics of related interest in upcoming weeks.

With a media-centric culture becoming ever faster-paced and fragmented, it is time to become pro-active and take a stance to positively influence society by exhibiting films that uplift and inspire as an alternative to the steady diet of negativity in the daily mainstream media. Consider Matthew 5:12-14 "You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.”
Our goal is to feature filmmakers who strive to be light in a dark world. Cinema is the perfect medium to enlighten hearts and spread the Christian message with its direct use of light as the communication medium. Stories which are true to life and explore the intricate aspects of human nature are the salt which will cause people to pause and consider the message imparted by the filmmaker.
Our aim is to find the best and brightest contemporary Christian filmmakers and feature their work to ensure they find a voice and have a venue for their artistic expression. Just as Jesus used parables to communicate his message in creative ways, we believe that stories which illustrate the multi-dimensional nature of the Gospel through creativity and artistic expression will find the largest audiences and will be appropriately recognized.
SDCFF has implemented special pricing to make it affordable to individuals and families alike. There are many opportunities to promote your business through festival advertising. A limited number of vendor booths are available at great prices. We also have a give-back program through which churches and civic organizations can receive a sales rebate on ticket sales they generate. For those who wish to partner with us in a special way we hope you will consider joining the Director’s Circle.
We hope you will join with us in December in this “Celebration of New Life in Film.”
