Part of the purpose of SDCFF is to help the efforts of filmmakers that we have had association with to promote their films. We have two opportunities to do that which we encourage you to check out.

The film Lost Boy which screened at SDCFF-2010 in December and was our U.S. Documentary category award winning film is being considered for distribution via netflix. We want to congratulate and support the efforts of the Lost Boy team headed up by Gary Zelasko. Gary has indicated that you can help their efforts if you are a Netflix subscriber by adding Lost Boy to your viewing queue. The following link

Lost Boy: The Next Chapter can be requested on Netflix by accessing http://www.harvest.org/news/100.html.

Paul Pizzuti, of Parables of Life Films whose film Paid In Full was a Film Faith Builder Award finalist at SDCFF-2010 is raising funds for their next project via kickstarter.com just as SDCFF is to help raise funds for our ongoing programming efforts. I invite you to check out Paul's project on Kickstarter which can be found at this link:

Hey FB'ers!

Planning for SDCFF-2011 is now underway! We are taking the lessons learned from our first year and putting them into practice to make the 2011 festival an even better event.  We received many great comments from filmmakers and attendees and were honored to have the presence of many outstanding film industry insiders who entertained and educated us about  faith-based filmmaking and their own personal experiences in Hollywood.

One of the important lessons we learned is that it takes a great deal of money to cover all of the expenses associated with an event such as SDCFF.  We are currently in the process of a grass-roots fund-raising campaign using Kickstarter.com and would like to invite you to visit our festival webpage which has a direct link to our kickstarter project. Kickstarter is a unique fund-raising vehicle in which individuals make a pledge to donate an amount that they decide in exchange for a unique reward if the project funds.

A given project only has a limited amount of time to accomplish the fundraising goal. If the funding goal is not met, the backer is not charged. This is a fun and interactive way to participate and encourage a community to form around the common interest of supporting the growth of the film festival. In our case we are offering some great premiums for the early support of the festival.

Please take a moment to visit our website at sdcff2011.com and take a look around. We have a complete photo album of the festival on the website now and a direct link to our kickstarter project.

If you believe in our mission to affect film for good and promote Christian filmmakers we hope you will consider supporting us!
